Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)
Introduced in 1990 to help reduce the very high accident rate among inexperienced motorcyclists. CBT must be completed before a learner moped or motorcycle rider is allowed to ride unaccompanied on the road with L-plates or D-plates in Wales. You must complete CBT if you wish to ride a moped or motorcycle.
The CBT course involve 5 elements:

All or part of the CBT course may be taken on either a learner bike or a large bike. You may practise for the practical test on bikes larger than the learner bike specification provided:

* Based on an average of 1 days training to achieve CBT. If further training is required then additional cost may apply.
Direct Access
The Direct Access Scheme (DAS) allows riders aged twenty-one or over to take a test on a large motorcycle, allowing them upon passing the test to ride any motorcycle without restrictions. You must complete CBT as a pre-requisite, a motorcycle theory test and take a practical test on a motorcycle of at least 35 kW (46.6 bhp ).
Typically, this course may be conducted on progressively larger machines, until a test on a 500cc motorcycle (or possibly larger if using your own motorcycle).
Theory Tests
We are able to assist in preparing customers for the theory test and will be able to provide advice for riders who may have special requirements.
Refresher Courses
Our refresher courses re-introduce people back to the motorcycle and help you brush up on your skills. The number and length of our refresher courses are at the discretion of the individual.
Motorway Courses
We are able to offer motorway courses, providing you with confidence and some initial experience in navigating the UK's highways. Please call to discuss your requirements.
